AMERICAN STANDARDS

Excerpt from the content:

Non-destructive testing (NDT) is the method used to verify reproducible if parts can be released for use according to a standard. To carry out the test in high quality personnel must be qualified. Such a qualification includes theoretical and practical training in the respective method as well as knowledge the relevant standards. By passing an exam the candidate prove that he has knowledge in the respective method. The certificate verifies the successful qualification, the visual acuity as well as the necessary work experience.

SECTOR Cert – Our company brochure – Excerpt from the content.

"Personnel certification started in 1957. At that time it became evident that modern testing techniques will not give reliable results if the people can not use them correctly. This was the reason why ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) asked ASNT (American Society of Non-Destructive Testing) to set up a working group. In 1966 this group succeeded in publishing SNT-TC-1A. This  standard could be called the “mother“ of all standards for certification of NDT personnel. A three level system for qualification was fixed in this standard. The exam was split into a general, a specific and a practical part. In addition to this SNT-TC-1A defines that for certification working experience, visual acuity, training and an exam are necessary."
