Language of instruction

German, English or the language of your country. We require proficiency in the language of instruction at the level of someone who has completed a secondary school education.

Physics and mathematics

Candidates must have a basic knowledge at skilled worker level.

Practical training courses

Practical training courses may be advisable whenever candidates lack periods of professional experience, have insufficient practical experience or select a specific industrial sector. During the preparation for the examination the candidate's existing practical skills are refreshed. However, it is not a substitute for practical training courses.

Clothing and health and safety

Courses including hands-on parts involve handcraft activities. Participants have to bring their own appropriate working clothes and personal protective gear (safety footwear, protective goggles, overall etc.). The training and examination centres do not provide these.

Safety regulations

At the beginning of each training course the participants are familiarized with the safety regulations. If the latter are infringed, the training and examination centres deny any liability and the participant concerned can be excluded from the remainder of the training course.

Minimum period of experience prior to the qualification examination

The participant should have gained professional experience of using the method before registering for a training course and examination.
Some certification programs require a verifiable minimum period of experience prior to taking the qualification examination. You can find more details in the respective certification programm.

Evidence of satisfactory vision (visual acuity test)

Some certification programs require confirmation from the employer of the candidate's physical fitness before the start of an examination, e.g. the availability of current proof of satisfactory vision in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9712.
