Application
Your certificate is issued on a separate certification application once all certification prerequisites have been fulfilled.
Help us process your certificates promptly by completing all required information on the certification application in full.
If you have questions we will be happy to help, either by phone on +49 2241 26682-00 or by email.
Evidence of recognised training
For certification we require evidence that training recognised by SECTOR Cert has been completed in the relevant method and the relevant level / category.
The minimum training times required by SECTOR Cert must be evidenced in each method and for the respective level / category.
Training must cover the training content recognised and approved by our technical committees. Training at our recognised locations is monitored for compliance with the training content. Training not monitored by us generally has to be assessed for each candidate for a fee with regard to fulfilment of the requirements.
Evidence of a passed qualification examination
The scope and procedure of the examination for the respective level / category according to the certification programme are listed under the testing methods. IMPORTANT: For an initial Level 3 certification, a passed BASIC examination (at an examination centre authorised by SECTOR Cert) is an additional prerequisite.
Evidence of experience time
For certification, experience time in the applied-for method and application area is required. Our minimum requirement for experience time can be found in the respective certification programme.
Your employer must confirm the experience time on the certification application .
If certification in the legally regulated area is also applied for (PED), additional requirements may apply – please refer to the respective certification programme.
Physical fitness (DIN EN ISO 9712)
DIN EN ISO 9712 (clause 7.4) requires annual evidence of adequate visual acuity. This can be confirmed by an ophthalmologist, optician or another medically recognised person. The evidence is kept with the employer.
The following requirements apply:
a) near-vision acuity must be sufficient to read Jaeger number 1 letters or Times Roman 4.5 or equivalent characters (height 1.6 mm) at a distance of not less than 30 cm with one or both eyes, either naturally or corrected;
b) colour vision and/or grey scale perception must be sufficient to distinguish and differentiate contrast between colours or shades of grey used in the NDT method concerned as specified by the employer.
Forms for evidence of visual acuity are available under Applications.
Compliance with the code of ethics
Compliance with the code of ethics is a prerequisite for the validity of your SECTOR Cert certificate. The certificate is the property of the certification body. A breach of the code of ethics entitles SECTOR Cert at any time to suspend or withdraw the certificate.
Changes in employment
The certificate holder is obliged to inform the certification body without delay of any termination / change of employment. (If the certificate holder fails to meet this obligation, the certificate / certificates may first be suspended for 12 months and subsequently even withdrawn.)
Recognition of third-party certificates
In principle, SECTOR Cert recognises VALID certificates of other accredited certification bodies (e.g. for admission to the recertification examination, or for entry into Level 3). For recognition, issued certificates must refer to the accreditation and clearly name the accredited certification programme.
