Our committees
The technical competence of SECTOR Cert as a monitored personnel certification body is based on the voluntary commitment of the members of our committees.
Members come from research and development, the service sector, professional associations, inspection bodies and industry. With their expertise they monitor and develop the qualification and certification programmes – in particular in the context of DIN EN ISO 9712 (non-destructive testing) and DIN ISO 18436 (condition monitoring) – and keep content and requirements up to date.
Steering Committee
The Steering Committee of SECTOR Cert monitors the impartiality and non-discrimination of the certification body in line with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17024. It advises SECTOR Cert on strategic matters and ensures that all interested parties are appropriately considered in the work of the certification body.
The Steering Committee decides on appeals – i.e. complaints against SECTOR Cert certification decisions. Further information is available under Impartiality and Complaints and appeals.

Technical committees and Scheme Committee
In the technical committees, interested parties propose improvements and updates to the qualification content of training and examinations and monitor them. Market-specific requirements and changes in application standards are discussed there and assessed for their relevance to SECTOR Cert’s qualification content.
In the scheme committees, interested parties meet – for example method specialists for the individual methods or representatives of the technical committees. They advise SECTOR Cert on cross-method questions relating to the certification programmes – such as training durations and examination requirements – and on the further development of the respective programmes. The scheme committees also decide on the implementation of change proposals from the technical committees.
