Prerequisites for participation in training and examinations

Training

Language of instruction

German, English or the national language. We expect knowledge of the training language at the level of a lower secondary school leaving certificate.

Physics and mathematics

Basic knowledge at skilled worker level is required.

Internship / practical placement

We recommend an internship whenever experience times are missing, practical experience is insufficient, or a special industrial sector has been chosen. Examination preparation refreshes existing practical skills but does not replace an internship.

Clothing and occupational safety

Training courses that include practical placements involve manual work. Appropriate work clothing and personal protective equipment (safety shoes, safety glasses, coat, etc.) must be brought by participants. The training and examination centres do not provide these.

Safety regulations

At the beginning of all training courses, participants are familiarised with the safety regulations. In the event of violations, the training and examination centres accept no liability and the participant may be excluded from further training.

Examinations

Minimum experience times before taking the qualification examination

Before registering for training and examination, the participant should already have gained professional experience in the method.
To avoid possible discrimination of, among others, job seekers, retrainees and apprentices, the documented minimum experience time before taking the qualification examination has been set at 0%

Evidence of physical fitness

Some certification programmes require confirmation by the employer of the candidate’s physical fitness before an examination, e.g. current evidence of visual acuity in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9712. Further details can be found in the respective certification programme.
